Golden Rules of Short Story Fiction

The essentials for every authors take on fiction writing

1. Add ups and downs for your character(s) make them a punching bag of sorts.

2. Make a setting with description

3. Create engaging character(s)

4. Change up the narration style to enhance suspense 

5. Use the scenery to enhance emotion or feeling of a scene

6. Allow for the reader to feel emotion for your character (i.e. sadness, anger, irritation, glee)

7. Hit the beginning of your story with an engaging (maybe adrenaline inducing) scene

8. Give your characters motivation and purposes

9. A goal does not always need to be achieved in your storyline (sometimes character failure is author success)

10. If your story is based in a fictional city (or world) use pictures for accurate of description

Out into the swamps of Fleetwood, a lone cabin houses a powerful being. A strong independent creature who has befriended the nearby landscapes and intimidates the locals. A lone villager comes out from the village and makes his way into the creatures swamp. Later he meets the strong and captivating witch; Rihannon. May he treat the witch well, or he might be treated to something harsher.
